This post may well be expanding soon. But for now:
reaching
i can never seem to shuffle the words in just the right way
there are glistening moments when silently we come together and fly where it matters the most
but usually we stumble at best
when i revel in laughter
you hear sobbing
when i feel lost you give me wide smiley grins that seem to say ‘i know what game you’re playing at!’
when i can’t stop dancing you tell me you’re sorry for my pain
and spin circles on my covers when i feel i want to die
we try day in and day out to say our hearts plainly but the years have shown me
we each carry a private dictionary
our own language tucked firmly in our back pocket
every word has a billion meanings
intimate and known only to us
determined by what we’ve seen and touched and smelled and tasted and loved and lost and suffered and rejoiced
i will never, ever know what you are saying
not really
and my biggest prayer between us
is that you catch even the teeniest smidgeon of my intent

Hello! Waxing something today…
There were lots of days when I sat on the hilltops and pretended the grass was Your arms. Can’t remember the last words that tumbled from my favourite lips as You and Your slicked back hair drove away from my steel gates. I wonder if You’ll ever understand why I built them and how many times You casually passed the tools to me. Completely unaware. Most days I don’t think of You. Most days I don’t. The eternal itch I will never be able to find, let alone scratch. The one ‘No.’ that I regret. But I stayed safe. Thank God. You will never leave me because I left You. I told You who to marry and wished You well. And really, I’m not this pathetic…it’s just that sometimes poetry juice bars serve drinks that rip me soooooooo wide open. And there You stand. Offering Your bouquet of Everything. Great big smile still intact.

Hola!
Meet ‘flow in progress’.
She isn’t finished but has absolutely refused to speak to me in the weeks that have passed since she first birthed herself to me. I return. I ask. She stands proudly and calmly collected in the nudity of her incompleteness. Today it was her turn for display and I started to pass her by out of some sort of embarrassment I cannot name. She winked. She laughed lovingly at me, and continued her perfect smokey percolation. I heard her. Lesson learned.

Hello!!!
I’m quite certain that there must be a law somewhere that prohibits one from subjecting their friends to not one but TWO ‘Red Dwarf’ clips in one week. But You guys are partially to blame because You laughed at Ace Rimmer….and anyway, I have spiritual/philosophical reasons for this post! (Although I’ll still love You and think You’re uber groovy if You don’t watch! So there!) The thing is this; I’m in a life situation where it is becoming apparent to me that I probably need to tell a white lie. Now to me a lie is a lie is a lie. But I guess we all lie a little every day. At work. Being socially polite, etc. My friends think it’s funny that this is even an issue for me. But I went around yesterday telling the truth everywhere and it just didn’t work. Hell, now I should just say what it is so it’s not some big funky thing hanging between us All. Well, I ran into some financial ‘adventures’ ( ) a while ago and have been staying with friends getting my act together. It’s been about a year and a half. Actually, for seven of those months I rented a room for a wonderfully low price. Before my adventures began, I was paying a HIGH rent for seven years. So I’m now looking for an apartment. And all day yesterday when asked where I’ve been living, I told the truth, and was met with utterly terrified (YOU MUST BE A HORRIBLE PERSON!) energy. My friends keep telling me to pick one of them and a rent price, and to just say that’s where I’ve been. SIMPLE. Everyone I know will vouch for me. I HATE that, but after yesterday, I don’t see as I have much of a choice. Which made me think of the following:

A friend last night lovingly took my hand and lead me straight down the quantum physics rabbit hole! It was full of cowrazy brilliant light and many things that delight me boldly but which I needed to hear again.

Today the wind raged like wildfire making love to everything. People were smiling everywhere. The world literally looked a little shinier today. And I got properly flirted with as every woman should every day! Damnit!

Hello!
Thinking a lot about perspective today. Most of my paintings/drawings posted on this site are works in progress. This was the bare-bones beginning of ‘trusting the jungle’ which I posted the other day. Had a lot of stuff I was ’supposed’ to do today, but mostly what I did was paint and draw and watch this picture morph into:
It’s still not finished.
I was laughing and REALLY appreciating how allowing creativity to flow through is such a tangible form of instant gratification. Zap! There it is! I’d LOVE to be able to stand back far enough from my life to be able to notice all the little growths and changes that surely must be occurring!
